Sales of mini-speakers shoot up at UK supermarket

Retailer Asda has reported that sales of stand-alone mini-speakers are up by 450% in the last year.

Ryan Longstaff, audio specialist for Asda, said: “The days of sitting around the record player may well be over but interest in music is booming. Whether you’re in the park or relaxing on the beach, mini speakers are a hassle free way to share the experience.”

In light of the news, Asda have slashed the price of the iSound mini speaker by half. The Asda audio range, which includes a portable FM radio for £2 and JVC headphones for £5, is available online and most products are also in stores for collection.

Longstaff added: “Products like the iSound mini speakers are versatile, allowing you to transform anything from a tablet to laptop into a mini hi-fi system, without taking up a large amount of space in your home.”
